Primary packaging
Glossary
Primary packaging is the first layer of packaging that surrounds the product and is in direct contact with it. Its purpose is to protect the product from damage, moisture, air, light, temperature, dust, and bacteria, depending on the product type.
The consumer removes the primary packaging last when unboxing the product.
Examples: Typical examples include bottles, blisters, tubes, jars, or bags that directly contain the product.
