Case study
Environmental school facility
Lipka is a school facility for environmental education operating in several locations in South Moravia. The main activity of one of them, Rozmarýnek in the Jundrov district of Brno, is the preparation and implementation of educational programmes for kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, thematically focused on nature, ecology, healthy lifestyle or even cooking or living.
It was for an educational programme aimed at increasing the financial literacy of children that Rozmarýnek asked us to design a cover for a board game for primary and secondary schools. Lipka wanted boxes that were eco-friendly but durable compared to paper boxes. The basis for the packaging was a box with a lid and an indication of the cards that were to have a divider in the box.

Inquiry: Hard cover for storing the contents of the financial game Dr. „Inherit" and Mr. "More Expensive"
The Lipka facility staff needed packaging to store the Dr. “Inherited” and Mr. „More Expensive” financial game aids. This game is their original work, which they gradually improved. For example, they gradually switched from the original paper cards to plastic printed cards, which are more durable. The use of a different (and thicker) material has increased the overall volume of the aids. The original plastic folders could no longer be used for storage. The Lipka staff also tried paper boxes. However, the inner partitions could not withstand the weight of the cards and were breaking down.
Lipka’s representatives thus demanded strength, lightness and storage capacity first and foremost. They chose recycled plastic as the material of choice. In this respect, the organisation stuck to its core values of a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to solutions. In terms of size and layout, Lipka requested a rectangular box with an A4 size inside. The box was to be divided into 8 sections inside for different coloured cards and other game aids.
The chosen solution: recycled, easy-to-mould plastic
According to the brief, we developed the packaging from recycled plastic with rounded edges so that the entire surface of the box, including the internal partitions, is smooth, strong and durable at the same time.
We delivered a total of 30 boxes to the Lipka school facility.

Our packaging in practice: more than 200 teachers from about 150 schools work with Lemmacon's packaging game
The representative of Lipka, Mrs. Ing. Jana Němcová adds: “Every year, we offer free seminars on the game to teachers from primary and secondary schools in the South Moravia region, where we train them how to play the game and provide them with access to a computer application and donate a box of game aids to each school. We have already trained more than 200 teachers from about 150 schools in this way. So each box finds a place in a different school…”

”We are extremely satisfied with the boxes. We like their smooth appearance, but above all the fact that they are solid. With the paper boxes, we struggled with the sturdiness of the liners because the cards inside would shift as we moved and the liners would stop doing their job within moments. The tabs in these boxes are firm and also pleasing to the eye as they are curved and you can't see the cut through the material. We also have to appreciate the helpful communication and speed of production. And last but not least, we are grateful for the financial support, as the boxes were given to us as a gift.

Next: Packaging for the new game and customised liners for sorted waste bins
Representatives of the organization have turned their positive experience with our team into further inquiries. In fact, they decided to use our services for the packaging of another game called What Crafts Brought. They then also had the same material used to make customised liners for their sorted waste boxes.
