How X-FAST reduced packaging washing costs and unexpectedly limited defect rates thanks to LemmaTag
X-FAST company s.r.o. – a leading player in industrial packaging washing
The initiator of this project, and also one of the largest purchasers of LemmaTags, is X-FAST company s.r.o., one of our long-term satisfied customers. The company was founded in 2013 as a trading company focused on the purchase and sale of products for logistics and warehousing. One of its key services is industrial packaging washing. In this area, it is among the leading players on the Czech market and a significant supplier in the automotive segment.
Inquiry: A labeling system for logistics packaging without the need for difficult physical removal of labels
The demand for LemmaTag arose from a requirement from X-FAST’s largest customer, a global player in the automotive industry. X-FAST provides washing services for 700 different types of packaging for this client, amounting to an incredible 150,000 units per month.
In addition to standard washing, the aforementioned customer also required the complete removal of old labels from all packaging. Given the enormous number of boxes, this activity was personnel-intensive for X-FAST. This, of course, was reflected in a higher service price for the end customer.
David Šic, the Head of Operations at X-FAST, then approached the customer with a proposal that, although requiring a higher initial investment, would bring significant long-term financial savings. He proposed supplementing the classic logistics labels with a solution that would allow for their easy application and removal from a single designated spot.
Chosen Solution: Smart LemmaTag stickers
Lemmacon offers exactly such a solution in the form of self-adhesive LemmaTags. Given the long-term successful cooperation between Lemmacon and X-FAST, the choice of supplier was clear, according to Mr. Šic.

Implementation: LemmaTags in various sizes, or custom dimensions
LemmaTags represent a very effective way of labeling packaging. They are a self-adhesive base for labels. Thanks to the special surface of the LemmaTag, these can be easily peeled off without leaving paper or adhesive residues. This technology allows for easy updating of the packaging description as needed by the customer and prevents errors in barcode reading.

Result: Lower costs for industrial packaging washing, better orientation for dispatch workers when labeling boxes, and lower “false defect rate” for the end customer
The expected impact was a reduction in the cost of packaging washing. Now, the packaging undergoes standard washing without the need to remove old labels. The entire process is also more environmentally friendly. Water that was previously needed to facilitate label removal is now saved.
Another advantage was easier orientation for workers in the end customer’s production. They now have only one place to stick new labels. This simplification subsequently led to another effect, which was a pleasant surprise for the end customer.
An unexpected but all the more significant impact was the reduction of defect rates in the final customer’s production. Or more precisely, a reduction in “false defect rates,” because robots previously evaluated poorly placed labels as empty trays and marked the entire box as defective. Now that there is one label on each package always in the same place, false defect reports no longer occur.
