Rental of pallet boxes with cardboard sleeves for Forvia

Forvia, the world's 7th largest automotive player - TIER 1

The multinational company Forvia is the seventh-largest global player in automotive technology, operating in 33 countries. With its diversified portfolio, it offers comprehensive technologies in all key areas, including seating, interiors, clean mobility, electronics, lighting, and lifecycle solutions.

We have been working with Forvia for years. They purchase a wide range of transport packaging from us. In addition to selling packaging, we rent out thousands of different types – from Ecopacks to metal rigid and collapsible containers, KTP boxes, and KLT crates. The rented packaging is most often shipped to Germany and Slovakia.

Inquiry: Reusable Packaging for the Safe Transport and Storage of Car Seat Frames

Forvia needed to organize and secure the transport and storage of car seat frames while meeting key criteria: a good price-to-benefit ratio, minimal environmental footprint, and the ability to reuse the provided transport packaging.

Chosen Solution: Pallet Boxes with Cardboard Sleeves

We offered the client a solution in the form of a combination of a pallet box with a cardboard sleeve—not for purchase but as a rental according to their current needs.

Renting pallet boxes with cardboard sleeves allows companies to optimize logistics, reduce costs, and meet ecological requirements. This system offers numerous benefits, such as flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability, and has a wide range of applications.

The customer received pallets and lids for larger pallet boxes measuring 1,210 x 1,010 mm, standardized for easy handling and stacking. These sets are compatible with KTP 114 888 pallet boxes and Ecopacks due to the holes in the pallet legs. The pallets were made from recycled polyethylene. Thanks to their 9 legs, they remained stable even when stacked 1+5, capable of carrying up to 1,450 kg.

We supplemented the pallet and lid set with cardboard sleeves, which protect the products inside the boxes from damage. These also provide reusable packaging that is environmentally friendly. The sleeve was made of seven-layer corrugated cardboard and included a loading cutout for easier handling of parts inside the box, as well as locks to secure the sleeve to the pallet. The lifespan of cardboard sleeves is naturally shorter than that of plastic sleeves, but when stored in dry conditions, they function the same way and can be reused. At the customer’s request, we shortened the sleeves to the required height of 700 mm.

Result: Another Successful Cooperation Saving Space, Costs, and Reducing Environmental Impact

In 2024, we rented out 1,450 pallet boxes and approximately 600 shortened cardboard sleeves to Forvia. The packaging was delivered in a collapsed state, resulting in 79% space savings in the truck compared to non-collapsed boxes.

Due to Forvia’s satisfaction with our cooperation, we received another order for pallet box rentals for 2026.

Conclusion: Demand for Packaging Rental is Growing – Clients Recognize Its Benefits

Based on our experience, we can confirm that renting logistics packaging offers significant advantages, and demand for this solution is growing annually.

Forvia saved on purchasing and maintaining their own pallet boxes, reduced storage space requirements, had the right containers available based on goods volume, and contributed to environmental sustainability by using recyclable packaging.
